Markets are a ‘must visit’ for me wherever I am as they are always so colourful, busy and vibrant in any country, whether it’s here in Loughborough – or in France, Uganda, India, ……… And there’s always something new and unusual to be seen or sampled. It’s not easy making a living from selling your goods in a market. The markets in these photos are all in Teso in north eastern Uganda.

- Bicycle repairs and spare parts
- Green vegetables for sale
- Selling sweet potatoes by the roadside
- Hardware and household goods
- This old grandmother sits under the tree all day hoping to sell some tomatoes or a cup-full of tiny dried silver fish
