Roger and I have always had a love for all aspects of nature which started in childhood. This includes birds, animals, plants, rocks and fossils, not only in the garden and elsewhere in the UK, but in anywhere in the world. I avoid being in towns and cities, much preferring to be in the countryside.  In later years, with the development of good digital cameras, I have enjoyed the challenge of taking photos, whether at a distance or as close as a few millimetres. I take photos for my own pleasure, but also as a way of sharing with others the amazing details and other aspects of nature.

We introduced our three children and then our eight grandchildren to all aspects of nature and geology, but only the youngest grandchild, Amelia, seems to really share our passion – all the others have shown some interest early on, perhaps to make us happy! Several times, Amelia has said, “I love nature so much. Do you, Gran?” She is very observant and is fascinated by the tiny creatures and flowers which everyone else misses. She uses her magnifying lens wherever we go and has learnt to use binoculars as well.

We have now started making NATURE PHOTO BOOKS as a record and reference of all the wonderful things we see together.
