A PHOTO A DAY HELPS …… Day 189, Tuesday

The high hills and mountains of the UK get much more snow than the rest of the country although we don’t have any permanent snow.

  1. No permanent snow in the UK. There used to be but climate change is, of course, having an effect. There is a guy who monitors the almost permanent patch in the Garbh Corrie of Braeriach in the Cairngorms which is just above the Lairig Ghru. It did disappear in 2017 and 2018 but was back in 20i9.

The forecast for this coming weekend is that there will be snow on the mountains. And it’s only early October. So there may be hope that the famous patch will be there again this winter. Meanwhile here is a picture of the view we get of the Tweed, Manor Bridge and the hills beyond which is about 15mins walk from the house. Just lots of rain here yesterday and today.
