Wildflowers of England is my theme for this week.
I have always been interested in wild flowers and by my mid-teens I knew the names of most flowers in England although I have forgotten many of them now!
Spring is a wonderful time as we see the countryside bursting into green splashed with almost every colour imaginable as everything comes to life again after the dark, grey winter.
Bluebells are surely a favourite for most people. We are blessed in our small country to have about half the total wild bluebell population, the rest being sparsely scattered throughout the rest of Europe. We have many spectacular bluebell woods around Loughborough, all within a few miles of our home.
