A PHOTO A DAY HELPS …… Day 25

Today is the last day of the week of bird photos, although I will put some more on sometime in the future. How do I choose just one photo when there are so many wonderful birds to choose from? I think I will stay at home again – and show you another rarity in our garden. The Red-legged Partridge is a bird of farmland which originates from our neighbouring countries in Europe but was introduced about 300 years ago into England. You would not expect to see it in a suburban garden. Although we have farmland only about a mile away “as the crow flies”, partridges aren’t actually very good at flying, preferring to run along the ground.
